Jim Bowie Festival
The Jim Bowie Festival & State Championship BBQ Throwdown is the last weekend (Friday and Saturday) of September. The festival is held on the the beautiful banks of the Mighty Mississippi River. Enjoy a weekend packed full of great events. Vendors, BBQ Masters, KCBS Judges, and Entertainers welcome.
Watermelon Festival in Farmerville
Founded by the Farmerville Jaycees in 1963, the Louisiana Watermelon Festival is held in
Farmerville, Louisiana annually the last weekend in July. The Watermelon Festival is celebrated each year as a way of promoting the watermelon industry and showing pride in their harvest.
The Madison Parish Police Jury and the Madison Parish Tourism Commission holds an annual Teddy’s Bearfest. This historical celebration commemorates President Theodore Roosevelt’s successful bear hunting expedition in Madison Parish where he actually shot and killed his black bear.
